Extra Slim Phones??

Apple had an issue with bending phones. The way we use phones would make it seem as though beyond a certain point a thinner phone isn't beneficial -- it will even get uncomfortable to hold.

Yet a thicker phone doesn't really discourage users.

When screen size wasn't an issue, the popular phones were thicker, but took up a smaller area.

So, today when this report from Kuo appears that Apple is working on the thinnest phone ever, it got me wondering what is too thin.

Then I remembered this image: (From This Post)

That doesn't look like a projector IN a phone, that looks like a projector ON a phone.

Projector ON a phone will be better in the early stages than a projector IN a phone. ON a phone would allow MicroVision to sell to users of ALL phones. Apple, Samsung, HTC, SONY... everyone. That would be a much better -- and it will be easier to be an accessory for a THIN phone.

So, a super thin Phone -- with a thin projector attached. That's doable. When it was announced in February 2014, the SONY module was listed as 7.2mm Thick. (Here). If we can anticipate that a new module would be a minimal improvement, we could have a phone + projector sled (like the picture above) that is about 1.4 Centimeters thick. Just a little more than the first iPhone.

One way or another, I think pictures similar to the one above are going to become common.

From PhoneArena

According to his research note, another duo of 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch phones is in the works for next year. The 4.7-inch iPhone 7 is expected to have 2GB of RAM, while the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus is expected to attain another gigabyte of RAM for enhanced performance. Both phones, however, will run on Apple's next-gen mobile processor, the A10.

Moreover, the analyst mentions a revamped external design. Although Kuo isn't in on specific details, he previously claimed that Apple is aiming to make the iPhone 7 as thin as 0.23in (6 millimeters). This is even thinner than the preciously slim iPod Touch and iPad Air 2.
